Your first set
Booking your first set is exciting. You wake up with lashes and skip the curler, the mascara and the nightly clean-up. Knowing what happens at the appointment makes it a lot more relaxing.
Getting lashes done should not hurt. You lie down with your eyes closed and most people find it restful. Some people fall asleep.
A few small things beforehand make the appointment smoother and help the set last.
| Preparation Step | Recommended Action | Practical Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| Caffeine Intake | Limit coffee, energy drinks, and caffeine for 4 to 6 hours prior. | Caffeine stimulates minor eyelid fluttering, which can complicate fine isolation. |
| Eye Makeup and Skincare | Have clean, bare lashes when I get there: no mascara, eyeliner, or oils. | Makeup and natural oils create a film on the hair shaft that interferes with adhesive bonding. |
| Contact Lenses | Remove contact lenses before service begins; wear eyeglasses. | Prevents lenses from drying out during extended eye closure and keeps eyes comfortable. |
| Comfortable Attire | Wear soft, comfortable clothing and cozy layers. | You will be lying on a padded lash bed for 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the set [1]. |
| Restroom and Audio | Use the restroom prior to starting; bring your favorite audio or playlist. | Once under-eye pads are placed and isolation begins, your eyes remain closed continuously. |
Skip the coffee
My most practical tip for first-timers: go easy on caffeine before you see me.
Caffeine is a stimulant. Even if you feel calm, it can make the tiny muscles in your eyelids twitch. You would not notice, but under my light and up close, the lids flutter.
Lash work is fine work. I isolate one lash with tweezers and place an extension a hair's width from the skin. When lids flutter, everything takes longer. Skipping coffee, energy drinks and tea for 4 to 6 hours before keeps your lids still.
Come with clean eyes
Lash adhesive bonds to the surface of your natural lash, so that surface needs to be clean.
Leftover mascara, waterproof liner or heavy eye cream leaves an oily film on the lashes that the glue will not hold through. If there is makeup or oil on your lashes when I arrive, the extensions will not hold and we move you to another day.
Glue that lands on makeup instead of lash comes off with the makeup a few days later, and the extension goes with it.
Wash your lash line with an oil-free foaming lash cleanser the night before and the morning of, and come with nothing on your eyes.
What the appointment is like
I come to your home, apartment or hotel anywhere in Las Vegas, so there is no traffic and no parking.
Here is how it goes, start to finish:
1. Consultation and Eye Assessment (10 to 15 minutes)
I arrive, set up the lash bed with its memory foam topper and the light, and we talk. I look at your eye shape and how dense your natural lashes are, and we settle on the set: Classic ($140), Hybrid ($160), Wet Set ($175), Volume ($190) or Mega Volume ($240) [1].
2. Lash Preparation and Isolation Setup (10 minutes)
I wash your lashes with an oil-free foaming cleanser, then place under-eye gel pads and a gentle paper tape over your lower lashes to keep them out of the way.
3. The application (1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the set)
You close your eyes and rest. I isolate each natural lash and attach an extension with professional lash adhesive. Most people find it relaxing, and some fall asleep.
4. Set Review and Aftercare Explanation (10 minutes)
When the set is done I take the pads off, brush the lashes with a fresh spoolie, and hand you a mirror. Then I go over aftercare with you and leave you a clean spoolie for brushing.
Try not to talk too much
Chat all you like during the consultation. Once I start placing lashes, the stiller your face, the better the work.
When you talk or laugh, your cheeks push the under-eye pads up. If a pad touches your eye, your eye waters, and tears on setting glue weaken the bond.
A podcast or an audiobook makes the time go quickly.
Maintenance Fills and Pricing Schedule
Your lashes shed a few every day, so over two to three weeks a set thins out.
Fills are every 2 to 3 weeks. A Hybrid fill is $90 within 2 weeks of your last set and $110 at 2 to 3 weeks. After 3 weeks it is a full set, because rebuilding the line takes the full appointment time [1]. Fills are only for sets I did. If another artist did your set, book a new set and tell me in the notes, and I take the old one off first.
Clean tools
Here is how I keep everything clean: tweezers and other metal tools are washed and disinfected between every client.
Under-eye pads, micro-swabs, tape and spoolies are single-use and go in the bin after your appointment. Everything that touches you is either freshly disinfected or brand new.
Deposit and booking
Your first appointment is held with a $25 non-refundable deposit through Stripe. It comes off your total, and you pay the rest when I arrive, by cash, card, or Zelle [1].
Reschedule with more than 24 hours notice and your deposit moves to the new time at no charge. Cancel inside 24 hours and the $25 deposit is not returned, plus a $20 cancellation fee [1].
First time booking a full set? Use code FIRST20 at checkout for $20 off. One per client, and it comes off the balance you pay on the day, not off the deposit. It does not apply to fills.
