How Much Do You Tip a Lash Tech in Las Vegas?

Direct Answer

Most people who tip a lash artist tip 15 to 20 percent of the service price. On my menu that is $21 to $28 on a $140 Classic and $36 to $48 on a $240 Mega Volume full set [1]. On a fill, a flat $10 to $20 is common. Tipping is appreciated and never required. I do not expect one, and the price on the menu is the whole price.

The straight answer

If you want a number, here it is. The usual tip for a lash tech is 15 to 20 percent of the service, the same range people use for hair and nails. Some people tip more on a first set because it takes longer. Some people do not tip at all. Both are fine.

In dollars, on my full sets:

Set Full set price 15 percent 20 percent
Classic $140 $21 $28
Hybrid $160 $24 $32
Wet Set $175 $26.25 $35
Volume $190 $28.50 $38
Mega Volume $240 $36 $48

A quick way to do it in your head: take 10 percent by moving the decimal point one place, then add half of that again for 15 percent, or double it for 20. On a $160 Hybrid, 10 percent is $16, so 15 percent is $24 and 20 percent is $32.

I want to say the next part plainly, because people ask it in a quiet voice. A tip is appreciated. It is never required. I set my prices so that the number on the menu is what the appointment costs, and I never expect anything on top of it. If you tip, I notice, and I am grateful. If you do not, nothing changes about how I treat you or your lashes next time.

Fills and removals

People who tip on a full set usually tip on a fill too, and they work it off the fill price, not the full set price. My fills are booked within three weeks of your last set, and the price depends on how long it has been: Classic $80 within 2 weeks or $95 at 2 to 3 weeks, Hybrid $90 or $110, Wet Set $100 or $120, Volume $105 or $130, and Mega Volume $135 or $165 [1]. At 15 to 20 percent that is $12 to $19 on a Classic fill and $13.50 to $22 on a Hybrid fill. Rounding to a flat $10 or $20 on a fill is completely normal. Fills are only for sets I did. If another artist did your set, book a new set and tell me in the notes, and I take the old one off first.

A removal is a short appointment, about twenty minutes with a gel remover. Tipping on a removal is optional. If you are having a removal and a fresh set in the same visit, people who tip usually go by the set price and leave it there.

Mobile appointments: what changes when I drive to you

Nothing is owed for the drive, the parking or the setup. I chose to run the business this way. Bringing the bed to your place is the service, not an extra on top of it, and the cost of doing that is already in the price of the set. There is no travel fee inside the Las Vegas valley, and I do not expect a tip to cover the miles.

If you feel like you should tip more because I came to you, you do not need to. The same 15 to 20 percent people use in a salon is the range people use for me, and anyone who tips nothing is welcome every time. The thing that helps more than money is practical: a parking spot I can reach, a quiet spot with an outlet, and clean lashes when I arrive. That saves me more than a tip would.

How to tip when you paid a deposit online

Booking works in two parts. A $25 deposit online holds your time. It is non-refundable and it comes off your total [1]. The balance is paid when I am there, by cash, Zelle, or card through Tap to Pay on my phone.

A tip, if you leave one, goes with the balance. You can add it to any of the three. Hand it over with the cash, add it to the Zelle amount, or tell me the total you would like to run when I hold the phone out for Tap to Pay. You do not tip on the deposit. The $25 deposit is part of the set price, not a separate charge, and the tip has nothing to do with it.

If you go by percentage, work it off the set price, not the balance. A Classic is $140, so 15 percent is $21, even though the balance on the day is $115 [1]. If you used code FIRST20 for $20 off your first full set, some people tip on the price before the code and some on the price after. Both are fine, and I will not be checking.

Booking

Every set includes the consultation, the mapping, the application and the aftercare walkthrough [1]. Full sets are $140 for Classic, $160 for Hybrid, $175 for Wet Set, $190 for Volume and $240 for Mega Volume. Pick a set, pick a time, and pay the $25 deposit. Reschedule with more than 24 hours notice and your deposit moves to the new time at no charge. Cancel inside 24 hours and the $25 deposit is not returned, plus a $20 cancellation fee. If this is your first full set with me, code FIRST20 takes $20 off the balance, once per client.

Questions about tipping a lash tech

Do you have to tip a lash tech?

No. Tipping a lash tech is a courtesy, not a requirement. People who do tip usually leave 15 to 20 percent of the service price. At NaahiXtension in Las Vegas the menu price is the full cost of the appointment, and a tip is never expected.

Is $20 a good tip for lash extensions?

Yes. On a $140 Classic full set, $20 is about 14 percent. On a $160 Hybrid full set it is 12.5 percent. On a $110 Hybrid fill at 2 to 3 weeks it is about 18 percent. A flat $20 is in the 15 to 20 percent range on most fills and a little under it on full sets.

Do you tip on a lash fill?

People who tip on full sets usually tip on fills too, working from the fill price rather than the full set price. On fills that run $80 to $165, 15 to 20 percent is $12 to $33, and a flat $10 to $20 is also fine. Tipping on a fill is optional.
