Understanding the Eyelash Fill Schedule
A common first question is how often you will need to come back. Some think extensions only fall out when the glue fails; some hope one set will last three months untouched.
Fills are needed because of your own lashes, not the glue. Lashes grow, mature and fall out all the time. A well-attached extension stays on until the lash it is glued to sheds.
Because each lash sheds on its own schedule, extensions go gradually, not all at once. Knowing that helps you pick a fill rhythm that suits how full you like them and what you want to spend.
Why your lashes shed
Your lashes grow, rest, and fall out, a few every day. That is why gaps appear after two or three weeks.
Each lash is on its own clock, so a few fall out every day. Finding an extension with a tiny natural lash attached is normal. It means that lash finished its cycle, not that the glue failed.
| Fill Window | Visual Appearance & Extension State | Recommended Service | Hybrid Pricing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 (Days 1 to 7) | Minimal shedding; lash line remains full, dark, and uniform | No service needed; daily cleansing and light brushing | None |
| Week 2 to 3 (Days 8 to 21) | Normal shedding; minor gaps; outgrown extensions ready for refresh | Regular Maintenance Fill: Removes outgrown extensions; rebuilds density | $90 fill within 2 weeks, $110 fill at 2 to 3 weeks |
| Beyond 3 Weeks (Days 22+) | Visible gaps; many remaining extensions grown out | Full Set Required: A fresh set protects your natural lashes | $160 (Hybrid Full Set) |
What fills cost
Here is what keeping a set costs.
How much is a lash fill?
A fill is booked within 3 weeks of your last set, and the price depends on how long it has been: Classic $80 within 2 weeks or $95 at 2 to 3 weeks, Hybrid $90 or $110, Wet Set $100 or $120, Volume $105 or $130, and Mega Volume $135 or $165. After 3 weeks it is a full set, because rebuilding the line takes the full appointment time. For my most booked set, Hybrid ($160 full set), that looks like this:
- Fill: $90 within 2 weeks, $110 at 2 to 3 weeks [1].
- Per week: $45 a week on a two-week cycle, or about $37 a week on a three-week cycle [1].
Waiting until week three leaves no slack. If a trip or a cold pushes you past day 21, too few extensions are left to work as a fill, and it is booked as a full set ($160 for Hybrid) so there is time to rebuild the line [1].
What Actually Happens During a Fill Appointment?
A fill is not just gluing new lashes onto an old set. First I take off the extensions that have grown out and started to twist, without pulling on your lash. Then I add fresh extensions to the lashes that were too short to take one last time. Both parts together take 60 to 75 minutes.
1. Removing Outgrown Extensions
An extension I put on a young lash two weeks ago has been carried 1 to 2 mm outward as that lash grew. Now it sits too far from the lid, tips forward, twists, or catches on things.
I isolate each one and ease the bond open without pulling on your lash, so nothing strains the root and only the well-placed extensions stay.
2. Attaching New Extensions to Matured Lashes
Then I attach fresh extensions to the lashes that were too short to carry one last time. That is what brings the line back to full.
Daily Habits That Extend Retention Between Fills
You cannot stop your lashes shedding, and you would not want to. What you can stop is extensions coming off early from rubbing and oil:
- Cleanse Eyelids Daily: Wash your lash line with an oil-free foaming lash wash every evening to remove natural skin oil and dust. Trapped facial oils soften adhesive over time.
- Sleep on Silk or Satin: Rest on smooth pillowcases to minimize surface friction when turning during sleep. Rough cotton pillowcases can catch extension tips and twist them loose.
- Do not rub your eyes: rubbing tears extensions off or pulls the lash out with them.
- Keep heat away from your face: direct heat from an open oven, a grill or a hot hair dryer can singe the extension fibers and curl the tips.
Seasonal shedding
Some people notice a little more shedding in spring and autumn. That is normal, and it passes.
If you notice a burst of shedding, book your fill closer to the two-week mark so the line does not get gappy.
Will you fill a set another lash artist did?
No. Fills are only for sets I did. If another artist did your set, the old set comes off first and you book a new set.
Booking a fill
I come to you anywhere in the Las Vegas valley, which makes keeping up with fills easy.
A fill is held with a $25 non-refundable deposit through Stripe, and it comes off your total. Reschedule with more than 24 hours notice and your deposit moves to the new time at no charge. Cancel inside 24 hours and the $25 deposit is not returned, plus a $20 cancellation fee [1].
First time booking a full set? Use code FIRST20 at checkout for $20 off. One per client, and it comes off the balance you pay on the day, not off the deposit. It does not apply to fills.
Full sets are $140 to $240, and a fill every 2 to 3 weeks keeps them full [1].
