Direct Answer

Lash extensions attach individual synthetic lashes to your natural lashes with adhesive, so I can choose the length, curl and fullness; full sets are $140 to $240 and fills every 2 to 3 weeks run $80 to $165. A lash lift and tint perms and darkens the lashes you already have for 6 to 8 weeks and cannot add length or volume. I offer extensions, not lifts, so this is the honest comparison from the extensions side [1].

Two different things

If you want to stop doing mascara every morning, you are probably weighing two things: extensions or a lift and tint. Both last weeks, but they work differently, look different, and ask different things of you.

Extensions add: I attach synthetic lashes to yours, one by one, so length, fullness, curl and texture are all up to you and me. A lift and tint changes what you already have: it curls your own lashes from the root and darkens them, and adds nothing.

I offer extensions, not lifts, so this is the honest comparison from the extensions side. Here is how each one works, what each costs over six months, and what living with each is like.

How do eyelash extensions work?

I isolate one natural lash and attach one synthetic lash, or a small fan of them, with a tiny drop of adhesive. Lash by lash, across the whole line. Because it is built one lash at a time, the look is entirely yours: Classic for definition, Hybrid for texture, Volume for fullness, Mega Volume for drama.

Your natural lashes shed a few every day and the extensions go with them, so a fill every 2 to 3 weeks keeps the set full.

How does a lash lift and tint work?

A lash lift is a perm for your lashes. You lie with your eyes closed, silicone shields go on your upper lids, your lashes are combed up onto the shield, and a lifting solution softens the hair so it can be reshaped. A setting lotion then locks in the new curve, and a tint darkens the lashes from root to tip. It takes 45 to 60 minutes and lasts 6 to 8 weeks.

The result looks like you curled your lashes and put on a coat of dark mascara. Because nothing is added, it can only be as long and as full as your own lashes.

Can either one cause a reaction?

People assume a lash lift cannot cause a reaction. Both a lift and extensions use cosmetic chemistry, and both can irritate some people.

If a doctor has confirmed you are allergic to lash adhesive, extensions are out, but do not assume a lift is risk free either. If your eyes are reactive, ask your eye doctor before booking either one.

What each costs over six months

Here is the honest half-year math:

What extensions cost over six months

With me, a Hybrid full set is $160 and a Hybrid fill is $90 within 2 weeks or $110 at 2 to 3 weeks [1]. Fills are only for sets I did. If another artist did your set, book a new set and tell me in the notes, and I take the old one off first.

Over 26 weeks on a three-week rhythm that is one full set ($160) plus 8 fills at the 2 to 3 week price ($110 each), $1,040 in total. For that you wake up with lashes every day and never touch mascara [1].

What a lash lift costs over six months

A lash lift and tint usually needs redoing every 6 to 8 weeks as the treated lashes shed and straight new growth comes in. Prices are set by each salon, so ask them.

Over the same 26 weeks, a lift every 8 weeks (weeks 0, 8, 16 and 24) is 4 visits, and every 6 weeks (weeks 0, 6, 12, 18 and 24) is 5 visits. Multiply by whatever the salon charges. The trade-off is that a lift only works with the lashes you already have, so if you want more length or fullness you are back to mascara.

Which one fits your life

Your habits should decide this, not the price list:

I only do extensions, mapped to your eye shape and what your natural lashes can carry. Classic full sets start at $140 and Hybrid is $160, held with a $25 online deposit that comes off your total. Reschedule with more than 24 hours notice and your deposit moves to the new time at no charge. Cancel inside 24 hours and the $25 deposit is not returned, plus a $20 cancellation fee [1].
